What is the Affordable Housing Portal?
The Portal is a web-based database of nearly 600 (and growing) affordable housing properties in California. It is a resource primarily designed to provide a centralized source of affordable housing options for individuals with low and moderate incomes. The straightforward interface allows the user to view affordable housing offerings on the city or county level, either by clicking on the statewide map or by typing in search information.

What is Compliance Services and what does it have to do with the Affordable Housing Portal?
A description of Compliance Services can be found on the main page of our website: www.housingcompliance.org. We were encouraged by developers and public agencies that we work with in California to create a database that could serve as a statewide clearinghouse for basic information on affordable housing properties.

Which properties are currently listed? How do I get my properties on the Portal?
The properties contained in the initial launch of the Affordable Housing Portal were those using the FOCUS™ Compliance Software, and for which we already had detailed information. If you desire to list any and all of the affordable housing properties in your portfolio or jurisdiction, please click on the tab at left entitled "Add My Properties," which will guide you through the easy process. To cover our costs of uploading data and hosting and managing the site, the annual fee is $249, regardless of number of properties.

How are we getting the message out about the Affordable Housing Portal?
In order to make this resource available and publicized to as many people as possible, we are proactively working with public agencies and non-profits across the state who receive requests daily from people who need affordable housing. We are in the process of sending out the news to all cities and counties in the state, many of whom we expect will include a link on their website to the Portal, in addition to referring interested parties. Additionally, our sponsors, the League of California Cities and California Statewide Association of Counties, are including this website in communications with their members.
